Albefeuille-Lagarde

Municipality of Greater Montauban
Nestled northwest of Montauban on the banks of the Tarn, this peaceful commune is home to unsuspected treasures.
Since 2016, it has been awarded the ” Patrimoine du XXe siècle ” label, highlighting the enhancement, appropriation and transmission of its specific architectural features.

Did you know?

The village owes its name to the former parish, which consisted of two churches in Albefeuille and Lagarde.

The commune of Lagarde was given the parish title and prospered until the early 20th century.

In 1930, the terrible flooding of the Tarn destroyed the village. It was later completely rebuilt thanks to donations from Holland.
