Less than 10 kilometers from Montauban, with strong industrial and commercial potential, this is a great place to live!

Did you know?

The name Bressols may come from the Gallic name Brictus, successor to the bishop Saint-Martin of Tours.

This name would have become ” brès ” (cradle in Occitan) to which the suffix-ol would have been added. During the 19th century, archaeological digs uncovered a number of cut flints, Celtic axes and the ruins of Gallo-Roman villas!

The town’s name can also be traced back to that of the de Brazols family, co-lords of the commune.

The Lavoir de Touron dates back to 1850. Under a wood-panelled roof, women used to come and wash their clothes in the basins. Monday mornings in particular were the talk of the neighborhood!

The former Bressolsearthenware maker drew water from the basin to work his clay creations.

Take a close look at the washhouse, where a plaque commemorating the terrible flood of 1930 is affixed to one of the two basins.

The church of Saint-Martin de Bressols first appears in 10th-century texts as a possession of the abbey of Saint-Théodard.

Destroyed in December 1561 by Protestants, it was rebuilt between 1647 and 1684, dedicated to the Nativity of Our Lady.

The church of Saint-Jean de Brial, probably originally built near Moulis, was associated with that of Bressols, although it was a separate parish.

Ruined in 1622, it was rebuilt at the same time as the Bressols church, then partially renovated and enlarged a century later.
