Corbarieu comes from ” Curvus ” (curve) and ” Rivus-cellus ” (stream), simplified to “Curvus Rivus”.

It was in the 12th century that the lords of Curvo-Rivo decided to rename their territory “Corbarieu”.

The church of Saint Abdon and Sennen wisely watches over the village and arouses the curiosity of those who don’t know it. And with good reason: these saints are said to have performed numerous miracles.

According to legend, the relics of Abdon and Sennen were brought to Corbarieu and held by the church.

Their celebration coincides with that of their execution and with Corbarieu’s patronal feast day, which for this reason is set for July 30.
