Ile de la Pissotte is a veritable bird’s nest, set on an arm of land in the middle of the Tarn. It is home to over fifteen species, most of which remain here all year round. Black-crowned night herons, the island’s first inhabitants, have now settled down and remain the most common species. At dusk, they cross the Tarn to catch small fish, frogs and earthworms!
