100Taur and its wall paintings

We recommend that you start your artistic journey in the city center by discovering a local artist’s atypical works.

You’ll be amazed by these gigantic representations of chimeras inspired by nature and mythology.

The first monumental fresco by artist 100Taur can be found on rue Porte du Moustier.

Since then, the artist has delivered three other murals inspired by works by Ingres: Ossian’s Dream, Roger Delivering Angelica and Oedipus and the Sphinx.

You’re bound to come across sculptures by another “local”:Antoine Bourdelle. Step by step, you’ll admire a total of ten bronze works: Sapho playing the melody, Penelopewaiting for her Ulysses, and the enigmatic Dernier Centaure.

Yesterday’s artists inspire today’s artists along the unveiled walkways.

From the Esplanade des Fontaines, discover Cleopatra by Flavio de Faveri, then head up towards the wave in homage to Camille Claudel. A little further on, at the kiosk, admire the monumental arrows that appear to have been fired by theHeracles rising from the earth, installed on the belvedere overlooking the Jardin des Plantes.
