Safety in the city center
The town of Montauban is taking steps to reinforce safety in its town center in response to recent offences and accidents involving cyclists, scooter users and other two-wheeled machines.
A municipal by-law prohibits the circulation of these vehicles in pedestrian zones in the heart of the town, encouraging users to put their feet down.
Best practices
– You must be at least 12 years old (soon 14) to be authorized to drive an electric scooter or two-wheeler in town.
– Accompanying adults are responsible for minors.
– It is forbidden to carry passengers on a motorized personal mobility device (MPMD).
– Insurance is compulsory for MPTs and light mobile bicycles: users must take out a civil liability insurance policy specifically for MPTs.
