La Droguerie Couderc, a Montauban institution since 1880! The first thing that catches your eye is the cobalt-blue storefront on Rue de la Résistance, a pre-boutique: basket, wicker lampshade, stained glass vase, feather duster and broom of all kinds set the scene. At the top, the name COUDERC is written in yellow capital letters, right in the center of the façade. Step through the door, which is always open in summer and winter alike, and you’re immediately struck by the distinctive aroma, reminiscent of the old drugstores we used to visit as children with our grandparents. A skilful blend of Aleppo and Marseille soaps, cleaning products and spices… You’ll find a multitude of items on the shelves, from traditional products to antique toys and trendy decorative objects. A word of advice: head to the back of the shop towards its beautiful inner courtyard… Be careful, you could be there for hours.
