Shopping in Montauban

Wednesdays and Saturdays are market day! So why not fill your gourmet basket?

The Saturday market is one of the biggest in the region, with over 190 stalls of sun-drenched produce from local producers.

Here are our tips for finding our partner producers at the market

For a touch of cheese, opt for the succulent cheeses from Ferme du Ramier. Edith and Hélène, the 2 daughters, perpetuate the family know-how that goes back 4 generations. Don’t worry if you don’t recognize them at the market: they’re all dressed up in canotiers, with their lovely smiles and lilting accents! When it comes to preserves, you’ll also find La Fabric’ des Pibouls, where Julie and Clément raise, process and market the produce from their free-range pig farm. If you haven’t heard of them yet, discover the vins de Pays des Coteaux et Terrasses de Montauban. In Montauban glasses, rosés are lively and fruity, reds supple and elegant, whites highly aromatic and fresh. Mainly planted on the gravel of the Aveyron terraces and the clay-limestone slopes, the Montauban vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Tannat, Gamay, Syrah, Jurançon and Merlot. You’ll find all these flavors at the Domaine de Montels vineyard.
