"Phoenix

When hip-hop meets baroque

For his second creation, presented at the Théâtre de Montauban, choreographer Mourad Merzouki turns codes on their head, orchestrating an unlikely encounter between hip-hop dance and the viola da gamba. On stage, four dancers interact with this 17th-century stringed instrument, their movements blending with Arandel’s electro compositions. A daring fusion that transcends eras to create a unique show, where baroque grace meets urban energy.
