All your senses on alert

In our markets

Spring in Montauban is a season when nature awakens and markets fill with color and flavor.

Saturday morning market

Discover one of the region’s biggest markets on the Allées de l’Empereur and Mortarieu.

The M line

A special low-cost shuttle to the market from the free Eurythmie parking lot.

Authentic and friendly, the market has become a lively event in its own right. Get ready for a festival of smells, colors and flavors to be savored with an accent! It’s the place to fill your baskets. Every Saturday morning, more than 190 market gardeners and winemakers await your visit. Imagine strolling along the lively aisles where local producers welcome you with a smile, proud to share their local treasures. Head for the stalls brimming with juicy fruit, crunchy vegetables and artisanal specialties, creating a veritable sensory palette to tantalize your taste buds. Let yourself be intoxicated by the sweet fragrance of seasonal strawberries, the freshness of green asparagus and the aromas of aromatic herbs. Can you smell the cheese? Can you see a tall lady with a boater in the distance? Come closer, it’s Hélène from Ferme du Ramier. She’s waiting to let you taste her raw-milk products, straight from her ripening cellar, where over 6,000 cheeses mature . We recommend the Printanier. As its name suggests, it’s a seasonal cheese: soft and tender, it ‘s as full of flowers as the season that characterizes it.

Wednesday market

Cross the Tarn and head for the Place Lalaque in the Villebourbon district. The Wednesday morning market is just as friendly, but more intimate, with the same values of sharing and quality. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up fresh, local produce, while enjoying thewarm atmosphere that reigns on this square.

Get cooking

Sunday?

How about an impromptu picnic?

Spring is here, and with it the desire to enjoy sunny days outdoors. It’s Sunday and you want to have a picnic, but the fridge is empty… Don’t panic! Montauban is full of great places to put together your spring picnic. Our recommendation? Go shopping at Chez Leonard (seasonal grocery store)! You can’t help but enjoy looking at the stalls!

He’s Thomas, your gourmet and gourmand advisor, who tests all the products to check the taste quality of each one, so he can advise you better. What he appreciates above all is the conviviality of meeting new people. His shelves are overflowing with carefully selected seasonal specialities. Whether you’re looking for mature cheeses, artisanal charcuterie, crusty breads or seasonal fruit and vegetables, Thomas will guide you towards a carefully selected range of products. Let yourself be inspired and leave with the most beautiful of baskets!

So who is Léonard? He’s the cat… he tests and approves all the recipes, enjoys the lid on the yoghurt and, even if he prefers meat, he sometimes indulges in a good fresh vegetable soup from Thomas.
